thats sad...

hope her next single is getting better.

As I suspected, sadly :( But 58,000 is still pretty good compared to what most of her singles (since 2002) has sold in their first week.

Break It/Get Myself Back sold about 4000 units more than Baby Don't Cry did in its first week, and that singles still went on to sell 140,000+, so there's still hope ^_^

I think these are a very bad sales for Namie´s single.
i can understand the reason, sure it´s not a real good single but sales have been real dissaponited.

Eh, sometimes singles just don't click. Still, #3 isn't that bad--she's still in the top 5. I figure she'll do better next time. Plus, as the Anonymous @ 11:20 said, this is still a better seller than Baby Don't Cry.

It would be a miracle if "Break it" sales get near of "Baby don´t cry" sales, it would be good but imposible.

Namie´s sales change after "60s70s80s" single, i think, that´s why "Break it" sales hasn´t been as good as expected...

After all it´s Namie comeback on TV!

Guys the single isn't selling as well because of the economy. If you want a comparison, Ayumi's Moon/Blossom has only sold 86,000 after 3 weeks on the charts. Namie is already at 58,000 in her first week. Trust me when I say she will fly up to number 1 in no time.

People obsess over Ayumi Hamasaki (which - I don't know why considering Namie has ALWAYS had better vocals/more talent than Ayumi), and she isn't even selling as well. Just give it time! : - )

Well, the single wasn't that good - She has done A LOT better, so I didn't expect it to do well.

wath are you saying?? 58557 is really good¡¡
and she hadn't publicity

What I am saying is that the songs were not very good, very boring. So why would the single do well? Number. 3 c'mon we all know that Namie could do better. Don't get me wrong though I am not hating.

If Namie could do better, why is this her third best "first week sales" in 8 years? Considering how little CDs are selling today, 58,000 is very good. This may not be her best single, but it's still selling very well.

Well I am sorry for having an opinion. You don't have to go and be a know it all.

^ rofl butthurt. 'know it all'.

considering how leaking and digitally bought music is rampant, physical sales would of course, suffer.

yes the single is a bit mediocre (esp coming from nao'ymt) at first listen, but from what i've seen, people had either liked break it a lot and gbm not so much, as well as vice versa.

if this single sold more than baby don't cry in its first week, i don't see how this is 'bad'. i think it can reach the potential of baby don't cry sales, and maybe past it c:

I think the reason why it is considered bad is because Namie has made her comeback, and so better sales are expected by fans now. When Baby Don't Cry was released, those were good sales for her at that time... but since she has made a comeback and her sales have increased a lot recently, I think it's normal to now have a higher expectation for single sales for her :)

Anyways, I personally think the sales are ok, but I have to admit that I had expected them to be higher also (at least equal to Wild), since Namie is selling better now ^^

But yea, this is only one single. In general, Namie's sales are increasing. She'll be back to #1 soon like someone already said (and #3 isn't that bad) :P

considerinf that she's busy with her tour and stuff ... im just happy to know that she has released a new single :D Though i do not like the break it video clip ... but the ballad was cool :D

she is number 13 w/ a lil over 11,000 sold

Almost everyone in the Top 10 this week were First-week"-ers. And everyone in the Top 10 last week made huge drops in sales, Namie included. Shame :( I wonder if it's because of the intense competition or the single's quality, or both.

And SMAP sold like 275,000 on their first week O.o

Anonymous said...

I don't know why...SMAP can't harmonize to save their lives.

Obviously no one liked 'Break It / Get Myself Back' due to it being a horrible single. Namie really hasn't had a good album and single in a long time. I completely lost any hope in her.

actually i like them both...i think they're better than some of her older songs but this is just my opinion.

well, i didn't like the songs first as well but they grow on me after listening to so many times (especially Break It is sick!).

Why people complaining her being placed in #3? if you want her to be top, it's YOU who support her. Did you buy her CD? I'm not saying to buy like thounds of her CDs. And other things we can do is promote her. words to words or on YouTube or whatever. that's what "a true fan" is :)
