Here's a video of a Indian song that sounded similar to 'WANT ME,WANT ME':
Instead of saying they copied 'WANT ME, WANT ME', I think you can say they sampled it just like the samplings in '60s70s80s'. ^_^

hey! im a big fan of ur site. i visit it everyday! the latest update abt the Indian song: im Indian and the songs name is 'Aa Khushi Se Khudkhushi Kar Le' from the movie Darling. i was shocked wen i 1st heard the song. i was so excited bcz it was Namie's song. theres anotehr song from the movie Waqt called Miraksam that has the same begining sample. this is so exciting bcz this was how Shakira became popular aftr her song "Shaka Laka La" was copied in an Indian song :D YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!! :D this news is also on Wikipedia wen u search fr "Queen Of Hip Pop" under Tie-Ups. my name is Suraj, im 16 and i love Namie ALOT. shes the best. hope she comes to perform here :D thank you for the regular updates. tc.
It's called sampling only if credit is given to the original writer and composer, like how NL/RS/WAF all credit the respective original writers and composers (even WAF, whose only similarity to the original is the title and melody of the first "WAF" in the chorus).
absoluetly. its mentioned its illegal on Wikipedia. but in India, theres nothing really done abt foreign song rip offs :) lol. there are like a million songs that are copied in Indian songs. search for Pritam on Wikipedia, he's the music composer. a list of songs are given along with its sample. and NAMIE IS MENTIONED :D i was so angry wen she wasnt credited on the news. i hope she is credited.... this cud be a stepping stone to popularity in India for Namie :)
oh yeah when I made my Indian friend listen to Namie's WANT ME WANT ME, She let me listen to this song...LOL Yeah I was like RIP OFF. Haha Anyways, the girl's costume looks like Namie's PLAY/HIDE & SEEK costume to me haha =x
yea... there r a million songs tht r copied from foreign ones. if they were to credit the original composers/artists, id have no issues. i wonder if Namie even knows abt this O_o
Wow... they used "WANT ME, WANT ME" as a sample, it's no 1:1 copie or cover version. But what reminds me more of Namie's song is the video. Some parts look like Namie's video... But well... "WANT ME, WANT ME" is a GREAT song ^^
