i expected worse!!! but you know what, namie needs to switch it up a little bit or she would be back to the so crazy times.

That's doing it for the money imo. If she switched it up to get sales, that proves she has no passion. The fact that she does what she's comfortable with and likes it, shows passion. I prefer passion over switching it up. Maybe you should switch up who you listen to.

Unfortunately, there seem to be a massive drop in sales for the 2nd week. :( I can only find her in Oricon's Top 10 one day so far.

oh please passion!!!. there's a difference between passion and no creativity. Namie amuro repeats herself over and over, if you want prove just look at all her videos, They all look the same. Is not about doing something different just for sales. is about keeping people interested, guessing and excited. Namie just needs to get out of her comfort zone. I totally agree with the 3rd comment and the 5th. I love herr to death and I'm not gonna pretend like i don't see it, she needs more creativity period.

She probably thinks she's creative and she's working with good people. This is Namie's STYLE, she dances in her videos. In fact seeing her do anything different would not feel like her at all. Like I said, if you love her but her stuff is no longer doing it for you, and you just want her to out sell everyone and always be on top, which is not reality, then maybe you should find other artists who do things like that. Namie said in an interview she no longer wishes to force herself on the public. So that means she will do what she likes and if people don't like it or get tired of it, that's fine because she loves what she does. People don't always like the same thing for that long. Maybe you are tired of her and need a break from her music. Because this is her style and it isn't going to change any time soon. She likes what she is putting out and it doesn't seem like she will be doing anything different because this works for her.

^ DUDE omg the person above you was just stating A FACT, You sound like a blind fan. Everyone on this earth knows that namie needs new ideas. You are also blind to the misconception of having a style!! so what you're saying is that just cause i have a style i gotta do the samething all the time,,, nope that's not true. WE WOULD ALL LOVE TO SEE SOMETHING FRESH FROM OUR GIRL AMURO BUT IT DOESN'T HAPPEND SO OFTEN, WANTING IT WON'T MESS WITH REALITY.(something for the person above) Telling people to listen to something else meaning: stop being namie's fan just because she/he wants more from her is rude. The person above you is not even bashing namie so RELAX SPPEDY. What you said is a little OD.

Haha I'm not saying anyone is less of a fan of Namie just because they want her to do something new. Hell, I don't think EVERYTHING of hers is GOLD. I just see her stuff for what it is. And I don't care what anyone listens to, or their opinions for that matter. Like what you like, we are all fans here or else we wouldn't be commenting here, so I don't think any of the people who have said she needs to do something different are not fans. And I'm not saying she HAS to do anything, the fact is that SOME people who have certain styles like doing the same type of music, and Namie obviously does. IS THERE ANYTHING WRONG WITH HER "NOT" WANTING TO CHANGE IT UP? No, why should she have to? If she likes this style of music she will make it. If she wants to she can change it up. But the FACT is she doesn't want to. She's NOT in need of anything. You just WANT her to do something different for a change, and thats fine. And what you said makes no sense. If someone has a certain style they have to change it up every once in a while? No, they don't have to. And just because you listen to someone else for a while doesn't mean you won't be a fan of her. All I'm saying is you can want more all you want, but there is nothing wrong with her keeping it the same. If she's happy doing the same style of music is that so bad? Let's be relaistic here, Namie has been working with the same people since 2003, maybe not 100% of the time but a good 3/4 of the way she has. She trusts these people whi help her make the music she does, and she loves their style. She enjoys dancing in her music videos and performing in tours the way she does. Is it a crime to say she is happy with herself and her staying this way is a good thing? What is it you want her to do? Be like everyone else? Do another style change like she did with Suite Chic? Work with different people? Do things she's not comfortable with just to please the fans? She seems to be doing fine over in Japan.

Sales-wise she's doing fine, I just think she's been a bit boring for a while. :o Though I do like her look for NAKED. ^^
Obviously I won't stop being a fan of her; I just won't pay too much attention to her until she comes out with something I'm interested in.
I'm sure Namie Amuro would be fine doing different stuff, too. She doesn't seem to have too much interest in what she's doing, tbh, I think she'd do whatever they asked her to do as long as it wasn't pornography or something, y'know? xD
I say *Avex* needs to come up with something more interesting for Namie to do; as it is now, she's doing fine, of course.
At the same time, we know she can do better, and most of her releases prior to the current period have been more interesting.

Right now she's doing the LIVE STYLE tour though, and will be for a while, so I don't think she'll be coming out with new stuff for a bit anyway~ xD

You forget to realize Avex doesn't give Namie what she works with, they are the people who distribute it. VisonFactory are the ones who manage her. And Namie has a say in the music she records. So its not like they are forcing her to do what she's doing and they are giving her her songs. She picks them, thus meaning she likes them. So that means she has an interest in what she's doing if you ask me. She is not a god and not everything of her has to top the last release. Truth is she's getting older, and maybe is past her days of "better". As long as Namie is happy and doing what "she" wants, its all good with me. Her style is fine with me as is, and to her its fine as well. Otherwise she'd be picking different songs and different people to work with wouldn't you say?

True, Namie needs something news, but what new? Turn into... little whore like Koda, who is touching her boobs and dance like... american artist on her PVs?

Whats with the arguing? no need to bash kumi, dont be rude lol.

I think it's normal for people not to like every single she releases, we all have different taste.

i personally like this single i don't think it sounds like wild/dr or like break it/get myself back.

she's switching it up a little, so people need to stop blaming avex, she's not managed by them anymore.

And if this about sales, they're fine, solo artist don't so well on single chart anyways remember wild sold 129k but past<future sold almost 600k get over it we like her bcz of her music.

^ I agree, she is switching it up but not at the pace people want her to. And this is what she likes so if we don't like it that doesn't mean she has to do something new. It's impossible to like everything and expect to have a new sound and style with every release. And its no ones fault. She picks what she sings, at least that's what she says in her interviews recently. So that means she likes it and isn't bored or losing interest in her music. And she loves to dance, hence the reason why she does it so much.

I personally can't stand it when singers have a new sound with every new single and/or album they release. Of course, singers are allowed to evolve and change their style and music as they change/evolve themselves.

But, when singers change them constantly, with every release, it just goes to show that they have no style or personality and they're just doing what's "hip" to get popular.

Namie may not change her style at the pace some people want her to. But, hey! Be happy she's not a sell-out like some other singers are!

Isn't it obvious that Namie's music changes after a period and if you compared the last few albums, they are totally different!! After Suit Chic, she did hip-pop and pop and it turn into more experimental mesh that was Past-future. Even on checkmate, you can hear the different types of songs, so I don't get the comment about her not trying something new. I would say that she is experimenting a bit again but this time more pop electric dance style etc. She is just doing things her way and I feel that she will continue to surprise us yet. Regarding pv, it's never her forte but if you watch many of them over the course of her career, she has come a long way.

Where have you people been? Haha I thought I was the only one who saw Namie's work for what it truly is and that she doesn't change up rapidly but she still evolves over time. And that this is her style and she is happy with it. She does pick her stuff she just doesn't write it. So this is the music she WANTS to put out. Glad to see I wasn't the only one here.
