wow what a drop!!! some artist like ayumi hamasaki would sale 74,625 in the first week.. Poor namie, i guess she's getting old and no one is interested in her!.
Actually, this single outsold Break it/ GMB. The result is not bad
Um.... it's not that bad. Don't even compare album sales because she's kicked ass this year and half of the album is older material. She kicked Ayumi & Koda's sales figures to the curb. I hope Namie takes a break because she needs one after this tour.
Lol @ the first comment. Yes, no one's interested in her... that's why she's selling so well...
And, please, don't compare her to Ayumi Hamasaki. They don't even make the same kind of music.
i wasn't talking about album sales. I'm talking about single sales, SINGLE SALES, SINGLE SALES,. learn how to read freaks!!!
Doesn't matter if it's single sales or album sales. Overall, Namie's CDs are selling well, so saying no one is interested in her is just ignorance on your part - especially when her albums outsell most other female singers.
Learn how to read between the lines. Album sales are better indicators because people do wait for the albums to come out since the lead singles are included in the albums. :D
Wikipedia says:
she's also the Japan's Best Selling Solo Artist (Male or Female) for 2011 according to Oricon's 2011 Half Year Sales of Artist (which includes all of Albums, Singles and DVDs) with an estimate sales of 2.7 Billion Yen.[140] according to "Amazon.co.jp", her Album Checkmate! top their Half Year Ranking in Music.[141] And at the end of July, she is going to start her arena tour entitled "LIVE STYLE 2011" to commemorate her 20th anniversary in the Japanese Music Industry.
Her official website announced her newest single entitled "NAKED/Fight Together/Tempest". "NAKED" was used in her CM Campaign for KOSE ESPRIQUE, while "Tempest" is going to be used in a drama series with the same title. The single landed on the Top 2 of Oricon Weekly Charts, Extending her record as the only female Japanese artist to have a top 10 single each year for 17 consecutive years.
Yea, you are right, she's getting old and no one is interested her...
like me, some people do not buy singles, cause those songs/PVs will be on next album
the first person must be one of those fans who is tired of Namie's style as of now and wants her to change up. And I agree with others above. Ayumi and Namie make completely different music. that would be like comparing Britney Spears to Nicki Minaj, both sell well, but both have different audiences and fans.
