Wish they would show people's accomplishments in regards to the scale of influence their country has in the music world. Do any non-English speaking artists really even have a chance?
^ Exactly. With heavy hitters like Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Rihanna up for votes in some of the categories, I doubt Namie will win any of them, but I'm still hoping of course. And I voted for her in all 3 categories :)
~ Does anyone know how these artists are nominated by the way? Like how was Namie chosen? (It can't be sales cus there are better sellers in Japan)
I vote for the best, regardless, and Namie has my vote, her longevity in this industry, this tough industry that demands so much of ones soul, and super talent, are unmatched, I love her!!
Well she is the best female seller, so it makes sense for her to be nominated for the "best female" category. But that still doesn't explain why she was nominated for the other categories, like "world's best entertainer." If that was based on sales alone, then akb48 would be chosen (going by the link the person above me posted).
Anyway, regardless of why, I'm glad Namie was chosen cus she deserves it, and I think she also can represent Japan well on an international stage :)

Are there better FEMALE sellers? I heard Ayumi and Kumi were put to shame compared to Namie's sales this year?
