Wow, she never rests. Great for us, but I do hope she takes it easy once in awhile

Hope the tour isn't for this collaboration album since some of those songs seem more rap-based than vocal-based. Tour will probably be near the end of the year though since it would be crazy for her to learn all the new routines and songs in such a short time, especially when she hasn't released any new singles recently.

oh my! AN ARENA TOUR!! I can't wait for the setlist and of course... for the DVD! so soon!

"Hip-pop queen Amuro Namie has recently announced that she’ll hold a nationwide tour titled “namie amuro ARENA TOUR 2011,” for this summer and fall."

Wait, What????, Please don't tell me that the album is gonna be an album of collaborations. If it is than what a huge disappointment.

^
it's just a /first/ collaboration album under herself. there was suite chic but that was something completely different. there will be 5 new songs, and usually her collaborations are gold, i.e. luvotomy, do or die

this is also an arena tour, something like her live style tour for her 15th anniversary as an artist, i suppose this tour will be for her 20th anniversary.

NAmie chan ... Please rest :D

lol and here i thought QUEEN OF ALL SALES WOULD BE BACk. Boy was worng!!! With this album namie would become and even worst saler than Koda kumi..

IDK why everyone is so disappointed by this, first the album hasn't even had a new song play on the radio yet, so we don't know what to expect other than the old songs, second, all of her past collaborations were great so the fact that people changed their tunes on them so quickly when it came time for Namie to do a collaboration album is shocking to me, third, the album hasn't released so saying it sold or will sell horribly isn't fair. when the time comes the time comes, if it does bad, her tour will still sell fine and be amazing as always, so everyone please take your negative comments elsewhere, no one wants to feel down about this, be optimistic people! and in today's society, no one buys CDs anymore except a few, so this won't be that big a deal if it doesn't sell a lot, because one album isn't going to make her company drop her, hello she's Namie Amuro. and she has had low sales before, and that never stopped her, and neither will this, I hope it does well and I have faith, IDK about you other fans, hmmmm :/

So basically you are trying to say that people are not true fans unless they believe EVERY endeavor their favorite artist participates in will be golden? People are disappointed because instead of having a new album with new songs, the album will mostly just be older songs, some of which are pretty obscure (Wet'N Wild) with a few new songs. I wasn't being negative in an earlier post I wrote, I was just expressing my concern about the new tour being centered on collaborations. Also, if you didn't notice, all the songs so far are songs where Namie is the "guest" in them... I just think collaborations should be songs where she is the main singer like Uh Uh... or Lovin' It. Just my opinion. Nobody else feels like this album is backwards?

No I meant that instead of being disappointed people should try and be positive, especially when the album hasn't been released nor have the new songs been heard, now when it releases and you don't like it, that's fair, as well as being disappointed by the outcome. Now I would say not being excited is a better way to say it instead of disappointed, and what was BEST FICTION? 2 new songs out of 17, no? As this album will have her Best Collaborations along with 4 new songs, its basically a BEST COLLABORATION album, so I still don't understand why you would be disappointed, when BEST FICTION was enjoyed by everyone. She may be the guest in those songs, but have we learned nothing of our Namie remixing older songs, she could very well add more of her singing into those guest songs. I have no problem with you being disappointed followong the release of the album, but its harsh to say that before you heard anything from it. And also her tour will most likely have 25-30 songs in the setlist, so we will still get a lot of solo songs, and her past performances of all of these songs were great, if not at least good. She rocked them all without the other artist. And in ROCK U, FAKE, BLACK DIAMOND, Luvotomy, and Do or Die, Namie is singing equally as much as the other artist, so it could be her song just as much as it is theirs. And ROCK U is solo, Do or Die can be considered solo after the beginning, and she sings more than M-Flo in Luvotomy. You can have your own opinions, I was just saying as a fan of Namie I am expecting another great album, and not something I won't enjoy. That's all. The album isn't backwards to me, just another BEST album in my eyes

^ You also need to understand that everyone has an opinion. I completely agree with the post above you. The album sounds a little unstable due to all the collaborations. I personality expected something as good or better than Past<Future.songs FAKE,Luvotomy and Do or Die are good but they work best as asides not in a album. Overall i think everyone has the right to express one's feelings without having anyone telling them how to feel.

Anonymous said...

That's fair and you are entitled your own opinion, I am not trying to tell anyone how to feel, but I just think it's a little unfair when we haven't gotten any other news or previews. Also, I disagree, I don't usually look forward to her singles being on albums, because by the time the album comes out I mostly care for the new songs to judge it. Like I said I see it as a BEST COLLABORATION album rather than a regular album like PAST<FUTURE. So what's the difference between BEST FICTION and this? No one had a problem with the songs before, nor did anyone have a problem with First Timer, or Ups & Downs. And I am expecting a great album even if its a collaboration album, I guess thats the type of person I am, when I am a fan of something, I always get excited for new things, and then if I don't like it then I don't, but I don't judge it before I listen or watch. And when you voice your opinions people have the right to argue those opinions, if you don't want this to happen by all means keep your opinions to yourself. And I am not telling you, cause I like discussing with people who see things differently, but I will laugh when most people who are disappointed by her album end up liking it after giving it a chance and listening before judging. I saw a lot of bashing on PAST<FUTURE, then a month later those same people loved it. funny.

^ She/he is right!! Every single person has the right to an opinion. The album sounds weird and that's all i have to say. I don't care if you think people will like it later, i don't give a flying tomato if you laugh later when everyone else loves the album, Who the heck cares what you think. You can argue trying to change people's minds but it won't work. dude grow up and realize that people have different opinions and no matter what they say, you need to accept it.You can still argue but you need to accept it. That's what makes a grown up- grown. MOST PEOPLE THINK THE ALBUM IS WEIRD SO SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND TAKE IT, THAT'S IT, THAT'S WHAT SHE THINKS, THAT'S WHAT I THINK, THAT'S OUR OPINION. YOU KNOW WHAT, FORGET WHAT I SAID BEFORE. POUND YOUR HEAD AGAINST THE WALL ALL YOU WANT. IT WON'T DO ANY GOOD

Anonymous said...

^Gosh you can't read, I said numerous times you are entitled your opinion, but when you post it up people have the right to be with or against what you said, and for a person who talks so much about being "GROWN" you sound very immature. Also for someone talking about people having the right to their opinions, bashing someone for theirs doesn't make you any better. You must be one of those young kids who tries to sound big and bad hiding behind the safety of your computer screen, and I don't care how old you are nor what you are like, that's how you came across. You can all think the album is wierd, I don't care to change your mind, because that's your tastes and such. If we were all alike this world would not function properly. And I don't have to take anything, this is the land of the free and I have the freedom to say whatever the hell I want, if you don't like people disagreeing with you, by all means keep your mouth shut if you're going to get you panties in a bunch.

Everyone just has to agree to disagree haha no use fighting about this on a blog ^^ As I said before, I still think the album is backwards and it's nice to see that some other people agree with me. When I think of a collaboration album, I think of an album like M-Flo's Cosmicolor. The "main" artist featuring another one to add vocals, raps, etc. Doesn't have anything to do with having a bigger part, but more about the "owner" of the song. And also, all the songs you mentioned were mostly vocalist collaborations, so Namie could just take over all the parts of the song by herself. However, when she had a rapper featured, she just cut most, if not all of their parts out of the song completely. Doesn't that kind of ruin the whole point of the collaboration album? I am highly skeptical about her re-doing any of the tracks on the CD, since I don't think she has really done that on an album since Love Enhanced. But as you said, nobody really knows, and we can all only guess about it for now :) I would also like to add that (in my opinion), comparing a singles collection to a collaboration collection is like apples and oranges; especially when a tour based on the said album is involved. Doing a tour based on collaborations by yourself is soooo strange haha. Can't blame Avex for doing that since it's all "business" to them, but even with her last album, it seems they are trying to milk Namie's popularity for all it's worth.

I will just state the facts. This is going to be a Collaboration album of her past songs that didn't end up on an album until now. There's nothing really ro be disappointed or excited about, it's not like they announced an actual new album. Yes it has 4 new songs, but that's about it.
Also, who said anything about the tour promoting this album. I think it's going to be something in the lines of Live Style, a mark for her 20 year career. And maybe if we're lucky it could have some song from the TK era, but it's too early to discuss about it..

I agree the album is weird. And noone will change my opinion,( It looks like people like to do that here) Well I'm new to this web but I been reading old comments and there are some people here who love to argue what everybody else thinks. It is so annoying.

Well, this could be the end.
She's... 33 she has a son and might want marrage. What if a new collab album, new album and a arena tour is a way of saying goodbye?
I am not hating I am just opening your eyes, I hope it's not the end ^^~ x

^ that is the funiest thing I've ever heard when it comes to Namie, first, having a son never stopped her in these past 13 years, you would think she would rather spend time with him when he was younger, as oppossed to when he's a teen and wants to spend time being well, a teen. haha and being married has also never got in the way of her career, even when she dated that guy last year she was always on the go. perhaps its just a collaboration album, to put all of her collaborations with past artists on an official album, hmmm ;) and she has had multiple arena tours silly lol

Anonymous said...

It just hit me, they said there will be 13 songs, and 8 have been announced, and there will be 4 new songs, so the 9th song is a song she has already done, and what is one of those songs not up there that is a collaboration not on an album? Lovin' It feat. Verbal, and the one song that has never been released, Put Em' Up feat. Chili from TLC :) I just got excited even though I doubt after 10 years this song will be released, unless re-recorded which I hope so because I would love to hear it. but the odds are against me so we'll see.

Namie has stated in interviews that she wants to continue and that quitting now is out of her mind. Doing a tour to say goodbye? She says she will say goodbye IF she is unable to do tours because her tours are what she lives for in her career. as for the tour being about collaborations, I don't think so, she can't cut all the other people out of her songs, that would be ridiculous and she can't tour bringing all those guests with her. the new tour is an arena tour, entitled to herself, it's kind of an anniversary thing. if it was going to be about an album, it would be entitled to it (ex. Amuro Namie Collaborations Tour) plus it's kinda cool how she's actually putting her collabs into actual cd's. she's gotten to that point where she has a lot of those stuff scattered around and a compilation cd would make sense.
As for those freedom of speech fights, some of you are bashing others for using their freedom of speech while claiming that you're using yours. wut o_o there's no use arguing about it it's not like you can change the album if you complain enough. it's not like you're gonna be forced to buy the CD even though you hate it (which you might not). you don't like it, then you don't like it. you like it, then you like it. why are you people making this so complicated?

Anonymous said...

You are right if you like it, you like it. And if I dont like it, I don't. And I don't like it, and I have the right to say so.

Anonymous said...

We just need to learn how to respect each other. If you like the album who gives a dawn, if you hate it who cares. If someone says they don't like it and you think is great than don't fight about it. because regardless of what we think Namie amuro will release the album.I'll have to disagree with the whole opinion thing. I mean people please everyone has the right to an opinion. If you go around life arguing with people, telling them to keep things to themselves, Calling them immature, saying smart things to others. You might end up in a terrible place. If you don't like what other people think. oh well,

Sooo excited for the new (or never been re-leased) songs!! AH! Just wants more neeews released about it. @.@ Wonder who's she collaborating with for the new songs though?! o.O

Anonymous said...

I hope she does a collaboration with BoA, or Big Bang, those are my favorite Asian artists, or maybe Koda Kumi, or perhaps MAX, or maybe some newcomer, IDK I just know I can't wait, I'm glad though we got this news now instead of a few months ago, I don't think I coulda waited longer.

I am excited for this new Collaboration Album. I have been a fan of Namie's since I was 12 years old. I figure this is another surprise. A collaboration album to distract us and to celebrate her 20th anniversary. Heck, it's another bigger and better tour. I am excited :)! She is going to rock it. And maybe after this tour A new Brand Spankin album wil arise with new songs, a new namie and a new image. Sweet! Anyone here excited. I am. If the album is backwards it's backwards. Namie does not disappoint me or her fans. Check out the Past< Future tour on Youtube. She rocked it. Her vocals were amazing. Her dance moves awesome. The crowd was wild. I bet her fans are wanting more. Like the Past she is bringing it back adn doing away with it to start a new FUTURE! Get Pumped guys!
