Her vocals were nice, although I wished she had done the harder vocals after the first chorus live T_T. The dancing was also OK. She seemed a little tired in the choreography but it's expected :) Nice performance.
i hope the DVD is not going to be edited the same way. I got a headache watching the clip due to the quick zooming in and out and all the cutting angles. it was edited really horribly.
I completely agree with the person above. The editing is quite annoying, and I wonder if they think we enjoy when it cuts out so far, you can hardly see anything but the lights in the distance. Or if they think we will be bored if they don't change the angle or distance every 2-4 seconds... Maybe for some other artists who really on pyrotechnics or stage-effects to do their concerts more than their own performance ability need this kind of editing (not naming names :P), but I think most of Namie's fans are just happy to see her dancing there with a normal camera angle that doesn't change often.
Loved the performance! :D I was actually satisfied with the vocals after the first chorus ^^ (considering this was in the middle of the concert and she might have been starting to get tired).
BUT the filming... really sloppy I have to agree... (it looked soo much better in the short preview >_>)
Is it just me, or did the second half of the big ooooh after the first chorus sound VERY VERY similar to the track? Did Namie lipsync just for that one part? :S Other than that, great performance apart from the annoying camera angles...
She might've lipsynched, just like she does with a similar part in Want Me Want Me.
The reason her voice sounds heavier and different from how she sounds on CD is probably because they use and autotuner or some other sort of filter to make her voice more "soothing". It could also be that it strains her voice too much to do the "CD voice" for 2-3 hours straight. In either way, her "live voice" fits the songs too and even if her vocals aren't often the same as on CD, it doesn't ruin the song at all. If anything, it proves that she sings live XD
I hope the editing for the rest of the concert won't be as bad as it was for this song!!! Truly terrible work! I'm afraid it's going to ruin the experience of watching the tour, if the editing is going to be this sloppy throughout.
To be honest, I hate the "shaking angles", I can't really see what namie is doing.
There is no problem to change the angles very often, but shaking the camera is a BIG problem. There is no need to zoom in and zoom out again and again, the viewers can't see it clearly.
I was like: is it a fan-filming or spy cam??? I can't believe that they filmed and edited "namie's best fiction tour" like that. Also, this director co-worked with namie with 'Sexy girl' PV before, he did a good job in that PV, however, he did a horrible job for the DVD...
This is her best live tour so far, I am so mad that the DVD is finally edited in this very bad way.
I really liked her vocals in this performace. She did it great! (And no I do not think she is doing lipsyncs in any part of it, there are some parts from a "tape" but you can hear the difference - but maybe it's because I got this video in much much better quality so the sound is better than on youtube). I think they are overdoing it a little with the camerashaking and everything. Actually that styl of changing view would suit the song very well but it's definetly too much. Sad. But I hope it's maybe just sthis song. I'm really looking forward to get a copy of this tour.
The vocals after the first chorus, or the "ohohoh" after the "hey~" were definitely lipsynched. Not sure how anyone can say otherwise ><. I really wanted her to do it live, but I guess it is too taxing on her voice... although I have no idea how she sings Shine More haha. The reason her voice sounds so different from the CD is because I think her voice is tired from touring for so long. Also, when she is dancing while singing, she powers thru a lot of the notes instead of hitting them precisely like she does when she can just stand still and sing. If you look at her interviews and such that she had during the final legs of her previous tours, her voice is kind of low and husky sounding. She is long overdue for a rest :) but she probably doesn't want to stop since she has just begun to retake her crown again.
Yep... I think she need some rest, how much tour were ??? 53 or 58 ??? if i'm not Wrong the edit of the DVD were from the Singapour touring, and i think at that point after the Fifty*Something tours is a Miracle if she can continue singing after all, Sometimes i think she efforts too much for her Fans, Maybe thats why i love her till die xD !!!
Great Concert... Hate the "shaking angles" were too much for me xD !
I do not think she's lipsyncing it fully. I think they used a tape and she also sang live that's my impression. They used to tape to make it sound better... I mean can't you hear that she doesn't strike the right tone XD and her voice also sounds a little sharp for the "ROCK STEADY" part and actually it's not perfect. I reheard it a several times and compared it to the CD version... no she's not fully lipsyncing in my opinion.
@ the person above. The lipsynched part that's been talked about is the "oooooooh ooo"-thing right after the first chorus. Obviously we can hear that she's singing live for the majority of the song. XD No one has said she's fully lipsynching. It's just that one part after the first chorus, that's all.
hey...i went to TW to watch this concert. and from the video, i'm pretty sure this was recorded on the same nite i watched.
namie's voice is quite tried for the whole nite indeed and i believe after 50 concert's it is normal to be tried... in the DVD u will find more of her exhausted voice and dancing. she tried so hard to catch the beat somehow... however, this doesnt really make the concert worse... because the atmosphere was damn great and she was giving all her effort to the performance.
the stage is fabulous...the giant led light screen is making u feel like dancing in the disco... i had jumped almost 3 hrs long without a rest... my vest was all wet after...
agree that the shaking angles is quite annoying even though the r trying to make you feel like in the concert...
btw...i'm sure there is no lipsynched in the concert but it is often to hear a background vocal in jap concert... sometimes the background vocal gets stronger then namie's real vocal... u can easily tell that in live...
overall, the concert is fantastic... i just hope the post-production wont ruin it...
The ideal situation would have been if they had filmed it in Japan, and aired the Taiwan concert on TV like they did with Namie's So Crazy tour. (Well they aired the full live in Seoul... dunno about Taiwan.) But yeah. I mean she's already so tired at this point, it would have made much more sense to go with an earlier concert. But the atmosphere should make it fun.
As far as I know, it IS usually one of the final concerts that make it to DVD, regardless of who the performer is.
Also, with So Crazy Tour, they only aired the Seoul concert in South Korea - and it wasn't the entire concert. A couple of songs didn't air.
They did the same thing on Japanese television, a while before the DVD release. It was the exact same concert as on the DVD, only it was (like with the Seoul concert) missing 3-4 songs.
Lately, they don't seem to air her new concerts on TV. Perhaps to boost DVD sales?

sigh!! hope that show out soon
That was great, I love it! She was working Rock Steady!!
Wow just watching this already solidified that this is gonna be an epic concert.
seriously fierce.

for some reason, namie's voice during performances sounds so much more heavier and different from her CD's... still love her though ^ ^

I can't picture how the whole would be like.

didn't she get pneumonia as well? and she still continued to perform, of course she's going to sound a little less polished.
Hate the "shaking angles" were too much for me xD !
pneumonia???? I thought it was just the flu! O___o Is it even possible to perform with pneumonia?
every1's so picky. at least namie is actually singing live
I read that the doctor even told her not to perform when she had pneumonia. Our Namie is something
I do not think she's lipsyncing it fully. I think they used a tape and she also sang live that's my impression. They used to tape to make it sound better... Gosh! It's just some 5 seconds of lipsynching, guys! That's not even worth mentioning.
