Who's Namie Amuro?
安室 奈美恵 (A-mu-ro Na-mi-e) or Namie Amuro is a Japanese singer and dancer from Okinawa. Born on 20 September 1977 , she started her career in 1992 with the group 'SuperMonkeys' and debuted as a solo singer in 1995. Named the most successful Japanese female singer of all time and sold over 35 million records, she still remains as one of the most popular and best selling singer even to this day. At first, I was indifferent to it. But as i kept listening it got soo much better. It is definitely new and she does sound a bit different. It's amazing. I love that line "shut up and get up."
It took a few listens, but I like it too. It sounds like her voice has been mixed or has some synthesizer to it. Definitely looking forward to the real version in a couple of weeks. :>
This is one of the things that I like about Namie better than many of the other popular female singers. She can change her vocals to suit the different genres that she does. With people like Ayumi, Utada, Kumi, they always sound the same in my opinion. I really like how Namie can change so well, and it makes me appreciate her more as an artist compared to just being a pop-star.
