very Good !!
Amazing!
but I think the article is wrong, because "ALARM" charted at #11...
Actually the article says that Namie is the only female artist that had been on Oricon's top 10 singles for 15 consecutive years...
Alarm has charted #11 in 2004, but Want me Want Me and All for you were released in the same year, and both charted on top 10
aah, good point, Julie. and yeah, this is awesommeee!!
75k without much promotion is WOWWWW. way to go, Namie! :D
Wow, I didn't expect her to be #1 for the week since I thought her sales dropped below some of the singles that had been released a week earlier than hers after the first day but maybe she came back during the week? I hadn't been paying much attention to it >_<. Also could have been her first day sales just pushed her way ahead of everyone else. Congratulations to Namie :). Very good sales considering that this single was quite experimental for her and really went fully into the direction she has been heading with all the electronic-synthesized sounds her songs have been having lately. I really hope she goes back into the hip-pop genre though. I felt those songs really showcased her vocals more than her newer songs have been :( The more synthesized you get, the less respect people have for your singing ability... and Namie can sing well.
I totally agree with the anonymous right above.
go namie!
wow, i just can't believe I've been following her since '94~'95, wow! Already 15 years, and she still standing still! especially in Japanese entertainment industry (one of the most competitive in the world)... truly amazing!
Thank you Julie for clearing this up as we all know Alarm debuted weekly at #11.
Somehow I always had the idea it was SINGLE consecutively charted in Top 10 for the past 15 years, which is incorrect.
Now we all know the record is for singles charted in Top 10 for 15 consecutive YEARS =D
OH wait, NNN actually posted it as "Namie has broken the record of having ALL her singles debuted on the Top 10 chart for the past 15 years."....
Alarm was debuted weekly at #11...
Would anybody be able to give us a direct translation from Oricon?
This is getting a bit confusing again LOL
Congrats to Namie...
Namie forever!
@NebX i think NNN means that namie broken her own record for having all of her singles debuted on the top 10 daily charts, not weekly
