Tempest is a piece of art IMO! I'm usually not a fan of ballads but this one is special. Very nice song with a beautiful pv!

The "Tempest" PV was alright. I feel it was one of her more boring PVs. Yeah it had the rain and the flower petals but it didn't do it for me.

I feel that "All For You" was much more entertaining. I still like Naked and Fight Together more than this song.

Thanks for sharing with us though.

I love both videos! This new stuff may not be Play or Queen of Hip Pop, but she's doing what it takes to WIN! Although I miss her old sound alot!

I'm a fan of Namie for 10 years now and I must say that if these were the first songs I heard from her, I don't think I'd have become a big fan (like I am now). I miss her earlier style in music.
I found Naked to be similar to Rock U, guess this type of music is now popular in Japan. As for Tempest, I like it, it's a beautiful song and the PV was just right. The song itself is great and simple, so is the PV.

any word on an album release date

she just released an album why would there be any news of another one only months after the release of her last. not to mention she hasn't even toured for that album yet. she's releasing a single that's all. it seems there has been a pattern since Break The Rules, she releases on every two years. 01, 03, 05, 07, 09 (I don't count BEST FICTION since its a Best of album) and 11, so I'm not getting excited until 2013. Now sorry if I'm sounding like an ass, but releasing an album by the end of this year is just silly.

Technically, Checkmate isn't a "real" album. It's like a best collaborations with 4 new songs.

Also, from what I've heard, she's currently on tour - but not for Checkmate. Apparently she's doing another Live Style-tour, to celebrate 20 years as a singer. Haven't seen a setlist or anything to completely confirm that though.

I heard the tour got pushed back to July 30th because of the earthquake. And also, I doubt there will be another album before the end of 2012. Who knows, I just don't see it after her pattern. I'm sure her tour will get more dates and I doubt she would release during a tour.

ROCK U is a masterpiece. naked just falls flat next to it. tempest pv was boring, i liked her dress, but it's a ballad and i never really liked her vids much as opposed to watching live vids. so sad fight together didn't get a pv

I thought that after checkmate namie would keep impressing her fans but to be honest she's back to the same. Her style doesn't change at all and that alone is a bit frustrating. when it comes to other Japaneses artists namie doesn't stand a chance when it comes to shaking things up. Sometimes and I'm not saying all the time, namie's singles are kind of mediocre. Naked's pv is similar to break it, and the same with tempest and get my self back. Take a look at all her R&B videos(Shine More, Put 'Em Up, So Crazy,Alarm, Girl Talk/The Speed Star,
Want Me, Want Me,Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick , Funky Town, Hide & Seek, Wild/Dr, Fast Car, Wonder Woman, Make It Happen, Break It.)
the theme of almost all of them is namie with different hair styles and wardrobe dancing in different places. Her ballads( I Will,Wishing on the Same Star, All for You, white Light, Baby Don't Cry, Ningyo, Get Myself Back, The Meaning of Us")consist of namie standing some where signing with different hair styles and dresses. I love namie to death but over the years she just keeps doing the same routine. Sometimes i really think she doesn't even put any effort to show her fans something different.I don't know anymore

^ that's sooo true,, i literally take like a 5 month break from namie cause she bores the living heck out of me sometimes!!

I love Namie's current styles, I don't like when artist change much and OLD Namie was good for those years. my opinion
