Oh, sad. Namie was only 3 for the daily single ranking >_< I hope it picks up steam and the others lose steam. Triple A-sides would be more popular I thought.

Well, it couldn't really compete with "something48", so it was expected that the single wouldn't reach top place. I'm sure it will be second by the end of the week.

I thought that after checkmate namie would keep impressing her fans but to be honest she's back to the same. Her style doesn't change at all and that alone is a bit frustrating. when it comes to other Japaneses artists namie doesn't stand a chance when it comes to shaking things up. Sometimes and I'm not saying all the time, namie's singles are kind of mediocre. Naked's pv is similar to break it, and the same with tempest and get my self back. Take a look at all her R&B videos(Shine More, Put 'Em Up, So Crazy,Alarm, Girl Talk/The Speed Star,
Want Me, Want Me,Can't Sleep, Can't Eat, I'm Sick , Funky Town, Hide & Seek, Wild/Dr, Fast Car, Wonder Woman, Make It Happen, Break It.)
the theme of almost all of them is namie with different hair styles and wardrobe dancing in different places. Her ballads( I Will,Wishing on the Same Star, All for You, white Light, Baby Don't Cry, Ningyo, Get Myself Back, The Meaning of Us")consist of namie standing some where signing with different hair styles and dresses. I love namie to death but over the years she just keeps doing the same routine. Sometimes i really think she doesn't even put any effort to show her fans something different.I don't know anymore

^Well the message in her songs have changed quite a bit. Most of her old songs have been about love but her last 3 singles are about waking up, moving forward and know who you are. And Namie's a bit bout subtlety. Each nuance has a different feature to them.
And lastly, I find that this pv was much better than Break It. It's her first MV that kept me watching the whole time lol.
As for the ballad videos, they do need better vision.

Well you can't blame Namie for her videos, whatever the company is willing to put into them is what goes. And that's Namie's style. Dancing. Plus form what she has said, she makes the music and videos only so she can perform the live. I agree, she doesn't progress style wise, but thats her and I respect someone who does what they want and not what everyone else is doing.

^ that's not true!! namie is one of the most influential and successful artist in japan right now. Her yearly sales has left her competition eating dust.Sooo avex trax really doesn't care how much she spends on her pv's. Namie needs more creativity period.... she's talented, pretty, and successful!!!. There's a huge difference between having a certain style and just repeating yourself over and over and over like namie clearly does over the years. I agree with the comment above namie makes music and videos only so she can perform live!!! i did hear that, but she doesn't really do spectacular and unique things on her lives. All she does is dance and dance soo that's not really an argument. We all love namie otherwise we wouldn't be commenting. Our girl needs a fresh new perspective people with good ideas!!

Namie DID have a brief period of style experimentation with PAST < FUTURE, but since then I feel like she's become complacent. :| Namie is adorable and talented and we all love her, but I agree she isn't always the most passionate about her career. She could stand to be involved in her own career (at her point of success, she DOES have more control than the typical artist).

The quality of her live performances HAS been improving recently, though, even if there's rarely anything too exciting about them. But I feel like jpop idols tend to slack a bit during the "summer single" period anyway? xD We'll see if she'll step it up for fall.

^ totally agree!!! But you know what,, Namie isn't really a single or a live artist, she's more of an album artist. All her R&B albums are to die for. To be completely honest albums are the only aspect namie shines on. When it comes to her live performances (even if namie improved) she still lacks like literally 70% of charisma. The girl has massive energy cause signing and dancing are almost impossible to do at the same time but our namie does it no sweat!! Everything else is just likeeee yeah!!! she needs to work on it!!. Namie has like 16 years in the music industry, she's like a senior when it comes down to her mortal rival ayumi hamasaki or her tiny beatable rival koda kumi. It just seems like they have more expiriance than her when you take singles, uniqueness, live performances and fan importance into consideration.

Yall some hating ass bitches namie is the best and her style is her own she doesn't have to keep changing it. what you may not like think or feel differs from fan to fan. I do admit I think her earlier stuff had more passion though but she is still one of the best point blank.

Are you kidding me? Look at Namie when she was with Supermonkeys, went solo, in 2000, went R&B, and now, she is always changing up. Maybe not at the rate you would like to see, but she is. And as for the whole her being an Album artist, I don't see that at all. And look at how good she's doing for being in there this long, there is nothing wrong with her Tours, Albums, Singles, ect. Look at her style and then look at the two people you've compared her to, they all have different personalities so it shows in there stuff. And Namie is shy, you can't make shy people interact with people more, she's being herself and she is doing well at it. She doesn't need to be over the top to sell, dive into the crowd in her tours to make them good, or change up her music to make sure she doesn't get left behind. And FYI, I think in her tours she is very charismatic, she can go from putting on a performance to being all giggly like that. It isn't a look of boredom, its her portrayal of her music. Almost like acting, she did act once you know.

And I'm not sayign you called anything of hers bad, but I don't think she needs to change it up, she's doing what she loves how she loves to do it, you can't question her passion because if she didn't have any for what she does, she would've stopped when she wasn't so popular anymore and didn't sell that good. People show their passion in different ways. And I can see it in her work. And I am not saying this because its Namie Amuro, I am not a brand fan at all. But looking at the type of person she is, I can see she loves what she is doing and this is her style she is comfortable with. And judging by her sales, people like it too. I would lose respect for her if she was trying to be out there by any means just for the sales, I love people who do what they want, even if its not popular and doesnt sell, because I see that as true passion, if you are doing what others are and its not you, that isnt passion, thats just being in it for the money only.
